Estates Manager (1 Post)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) situated at Chang’ombe, Temeke District in Dar es Salaam.

Job Title: Estates Manager (1 Post)

(a) Qualifications and Experience:
Applicant must be a Holder of a Masters Degree in Engineering or Architecture or any other relevant field and registered as a professional Engineer/Valuer with the relevant Board. Must have obtained a GPA of 3.0 or above in undergraduate Degree with working experience at least three as Principal Estates Officer or its equivalent.

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Head of the Estates Department and responsible to the Principal through the Deputy Principal Administration;
(ii) Serves as Secretary to the Estates Committee;
(iii) Responsible for land management, maintenance and rehabilitation of buildings and infrastructure and space utilization;
(iv) Responsible for Formulation of recurrent maintenance and capital development projects and their budgets;
(v) Responsible for execution of maintenance works and capital Development Projects;
(vi) Responsible for preparation of specifications of furniture and equipment.
(vii) Responsible for progress reports for Capital Development Projects and maintenance works;
(viii) Responsible for maintaining the fixed assets register in collaboration with the Bursar;
(ix) Responsible for provision of essential services such as water, telephones, electricity, sewage, drainage, environmental cleanness and safety etc.; and
(x) Perform any other duties as directed by Deputy Principal - Administration.

(c) Salary Scale: PGSS 21
