A KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To drive Agency’s motor vehicles
• To maintain the vehicles log book.
• To undertake motor vehicle services.
• To maintain safety and cleanliness of the motor vehicle ajira
• To delivers and collects mail and goods.
• Understands defences while on road
• Inspect the vehicle before and after “safari” in order to identify defects that may need maintenance
• To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Age Limits:
Applicant Must have not be less than 30 years of Age

Terms of Employments:
12 months Contract renewable

Shift In-Charge - 2 Posts

Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the responsibility of maintenance and development of Trunk and Regional Roads Networks in Tanzania Mainland. Apart from this, it is also responsible in conducting Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridges.

As a measure to strengthen capacity of discharging TANROADS' functions effectively, the Regional Manager, TANROADS Kilimanjaro Region seeks to recruit qualified and competent Tanzanian Citizens to fill the vacancies at its Himo Weighbridge station and the mobile weigh scale.

SCOPE. OF POSITION:
Successful applicants must be ready to work on "shift" basis including Weekends and Public Holidays. They should be willing to work for considerable lengths of time away from their permanent stations with minimum supervision.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Academic Qualification:
Holder of degree from recognized Higher Learning institution/colleges
2. Age: Not above 40 and below 35 years of age.
3. Must be Computer literate (at least Advanced Certificate in Computer Applications)
4. Must be fluent in English and Kiswahili languages

REMUNERATIONS:

The Regional Manager – Katavi under the TANROADS Engineer consulting Unit wish to recruit the under mentioned staff under the short term contract of 12 months renewable.

 The staff will be among the RM’S to supervise the works upgrading to bitumen standards of Mpanda – Usimbil

Position Title: Materials Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• S/HE will report to resident engineer with the following duties
• Advice the resident engineer on all issues pertaining to projects implementations with particular emphases on all materials
• To check the setting out of laboratory including the periodic calibrations of equipments as required
• To recommend special tests materials and or completed works order removal and substitutions of improve materials and or works as required to the resident engineer for approval
• To review and check all bituminous and non bituminous mix design and concrete mis design proposed by the contractor
• Follow up and verify implementations of corrective actions
• Attending weekly, monthly and other progress meeting held at the site as required by the resident engineer
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the resident engineer

Qualifications and Experience

• Holder of full technician course/ordinary diploma in civil engineering or similar technician qualifications
• Must be conversant with various conditions of contract applicable to civil engineering works
• Must have at least 5 years general experience as technician in constructions supervisor projects
• Must have at least 3 years material technician in similar project
• Fluent written and spoken English and Kiswahili language

Key qualifications for the shift in Charge

• Age between 35 and 40 years
• Educational minimum qualification: Holder of 1st Degree in any Engineering filed. Higher qualification will be an added advantage
• Must be computer literate (at least Advanced Certificate in Computer application)
• Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English languages
• Must be a Tanzania citizen

Responsibilities

• Enforcement of Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of Weighbridge scale devices
• Overall supervision of shift activities at the weighbridge station

Duties

• Carrying out activities as described in the Roads traffic ( Maximum Weigh of Vehicles) Regulations 2011 and the weighbridge manual
• Observe good customer care, dignity and integrity
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Regional Manager

Salaries will be according to TANROADS scales

Apart from qualifications requirements outlined, candidates to assume the positions must be trust worth, responsible, reliable, accountable and with high degree of integrity

• The holder of this post who reports to the shift in - Charge will be responsible for the following duties
• Maintain the Vehicle log book and all accident records pertaining to the assigned vehicle
• Keep the vehicle in good working order and in clear condition
• Reporting repairs or maintenance needs of the vehicle to the shift in - Charge timely
• Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity
• Performing such other related duties as may be assigned by the shift in - charge

The Regional Manager - TANROADS Njombe on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS is looking for open minded and creative candidates who are motivated to work within a modern and dynamic organization. TANROADS encourages applications from both men and women to fill the following positions on contract basis at the Regional Manager's Office Njombe.

Position: Shift In-Charge - 2  post 

Scope Of Positions
These positions are within Njombe Region, successful candidates must be ready to work independently, all days of the week including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays and with high pressure of work.

They should be prepared to work for considerable lengths of time.


Position Relationship
The successful candidates will report to the Axle Load Control Supervisor.

Responsibilities
Enforcement of Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of Weighbridge Scale Devices
Overall supervision of Shift Activities

Duties:
Carrying out activities as described in the Roads Traffic (maximum weight of vehicle) Regulations, 2001.
The activities includes the following:
i) Weigh Motor Vehicles of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) ~ 3.500kg plying on our Public Roads;
ii) If the vehicle is found overloaded the operator should impose road damage fees on the spot;
iii) Measure physical dimensions of motor vehicle or any load being carried on the motor vehicle, and in case of non-compliance with vehicle dimension limits, the transporter should be caused to seek for special permit;
iv) Observe good customer care, dignity and integrity;
v) Report all matters to the Regional Manager;
vi) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Regional Manager;

Key Qualifications:
Age: Not above 40 and not below 35 years of age.
Educational Minimum Qualification; Holder of 1st Degree in any Profession, High qualification will have additional advantages;
Must be computer literate (at least Advanced Certificate in Computer Applications)
Must be fluent in Swahili and English languages
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen
Must pass Agency Competitive Entry Interview
Apart from professional qualifications candidates to assume these positions must be trustworthy,

Remuneration: According To Tan Roads Salary Scale: TRS 5.1
Terms of Employment:
Two (2) Years Contract, Including Six (6) Months Probation Period
The contract will be renewable on the Employers' discretion, which may be based on performance. Other terms and Conditions shall be as stipulated in the TANROADS Personnel Manual.
