Kahama Urban Water Supply and sanitation Authority (KUWASA) is an entity established to operate the reliable, affordable and sustainable Water Supply and sanitation service in Kahama Town. The Authority was established on 21st June 2002 in accordance with the water works Act, Cap 272 of 1997 which have been recently replaced by section 60 of the Water Supply and sanitation Act No. 12 of 2009.
The Authority is a semi- Autonomous under the Board of Directors in accordance with section 4(1) and (5) of the water work regulation of 1997.
The Authority is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced, dynamic, motivated, innovative and result oriented Tanzanians to fill the positions that currently exist in the Authority.
Reports: HR and Administration Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out minor repair, such as fixing punctures, cleaning spark plugs or adjusting carburettor.
- Keep and maintain the vehicle and accessories in good condition. Supervise and verify regular servicing and repairs of the vehicle.
- Maintain vehicle log book and record all movements accurately and timely Verify repair undertaken on the vehicle.
- Report on major problems of the vehicle.
- Carry and deliver mail and parcels from KUWASA to other offices.
- Ensure that proper actions as required by rule and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident.
- Observe governing traffic rules and regulations as regards to vehicle handling.
- Advise the supervisor on vehicle abnormal operation that might have negative impact on performance. •
- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualification
- Holder of form IV/VI with Trade test I (Driving and mechanics) with a clean and valid class C driving license with. Mechanics knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Attended driving course from the National Institute of transport/VETA or any reputable institution experienced in driving public vehicles.
- At least two years working experience.

Age limit
Not above 45 years for all posts.
Term of services
On contract basis of a minimum of three years renewable upon successful completion of a one year probation period.
