Regional Manager, TAN ROADS - TANGA is looking for suitable qualified Tanzanian candidates for 24 posts available at Kwachaga, Misima and Horohoro Weigh Bridge stations. Regional Manager TAN ROADS - Tanga invites interested candidates to apply for the Weighbridge Operator positions:

Key qualifications ;

• Holder of full Technician Certificate in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (FTC),
• Must be Computer literate (at least Advance Certificate in Computer Applications);
• Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English languages;
• Must be a Tanzanian Citizen;
• Not above 35 years of age

Duties and Responsibilities

• The holder of this post who reports to Shift In-charge will be responsible for:
• Enforcing Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of Weighbridge scale device
• Carrying out activities as described in the road traffic (maximum weigh or vehicles) Regulations ,2001 which include the following
• Weighing Motor Vehicles Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) > 3.500kg plying on our public Roads;
• Imposing road damage fees on the spot for overloaded motor vehicles;
• Measuring physical dimensions of motor vehicle or any load being carried on the motor vehicle for determining compliance or non- compliance with vehicle dimension limits by the transporter for provision of relevant advice;
• Recording all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being weighed;
• Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity;
• Reporting all matters of the respective shift to the Shift In-charge;
• Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Shift In-charge / Regional Manager.

Position: Weighbridge Operator - 2 Posts

Key qualification for the Weighbridge Operator

Education minimum qualification:

• Holder of full Technician Certificate (FTC) or an Ordinary Diploma in Civil, mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Higher qualifications will have a additional advantages
• Must be Computer literate (at least Advanced Certificate in Computer applications
• Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English languages
• Must be a Tanzania citizen

Responsibilities

• Enforcement of Road Traffic axle load control by the use of weighbridge scale devices

Duties

• Carrying out activities as described in the Roads Traffic (Maximum weight of Vehicles) Regulations 2011 and the Weighbridge Operations Manual
• Observe good customer care, dignity and integrity
• Reports all matters of the shift in-charge

Age: Not above 35 years

Salaries will be according to TANROADS scales

Apart from qualifications requirements outlined, candidates to assume the positions must be trust worth, responsible, reliable, accountable and with high degree of integrity

Weigh Bridge Operators - 3 Positions

The Regional Manager's office TANROADS - KIGOMA, on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS, intends to recruit suitable qualified and competent Tanzanian to fill the following various vacancies in the Region on renewable contract terms in order to improve effectiveness and efficiency in Road Maintenance and axle load control operations in the Region.

Successful applicants must be ready to work on assigned office work accordingly.

• The job holder must have a Ordinary Diploma in Civil/Highway Engineering [OD] Full Technician Certificate [FTC].
• Must be computer literate
• Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English Languages
• Two years experience.
• Not above 25 years
• Must be a Tanzanian citizen

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The holder of this post who reports to Shift in charge will be responsible for:
