Job purpose

POSITION OBJECTIVE
(i) To supervise and ensure that banking business is growing according to the
Bank’s strategic plans, operational plans and other directives as issued by the
Board
(ii) To run the branch as a profit centre, managing the sales process by acquiring
new business and deepening existing customer relationships and maintaining
efficient while providing the appropriate service standards
(iii) To ensure risk levels are miminized and acceptable so as to enhance Revenues
and profitability of the branch.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To ensure that branch and agencies are providing effective, fast and courteous
customer service
2. To coordinate the Marketing and Business Development initiatives at branch
level and ensure that the branch meets and exceed operational targets and
business growth.
3. To be the champion of customer services at branch level and ensure that inquiries and complaints of customers from branch are promptly dealt with.
4. To be responsible for Operational Risk Governance across all business and
functions for the branch
5. To be responsible for aggressive business development in the outlets under their
control and supervision including credit, retail banking, foreign exchange and
depository services.
6. To ensure that staff are trained and have product knowledge of all banking
products, services, and customer care.
7. Ensure that all Operational Procedures are adhered to by all branch staff as
prescribed in the operating manuals.
8. To maximize profit margins by ensuring income augmentations and reduction in
cost of deposit and other overheads.
9. To prepare and submit to Head Office reports on the performance of the branch
10. To ensure that audit recommendations are timely implemented
11. To undertake periodic management audits of the branch and ensure that branch
management is in control of the branch operations.
12. Manage service delivery, to review output of tellers, customer service and
inquiries to ensure adherence to Branch standards.
13. Ensure timely submission of branch reports/returns to Head Office as required
14. To ensure that the Anti-Money Laundering requirements are followed as
follows:-
a) Take all responsible steps to verify and identify customers, including
performing Quality Assurance on accounts opened, and the general
KYC issues
b) Retain adequate records of identification, account opening and transactions and ensure timely and properly filling of customer mandates
c) Make/assist to effective reporting of suspicious transactions
d) Raise awareness of Money Laundering prevention by training all branch staff
15. Ensure tidiness across the branch premises and clean-desk policy is exercised.
16. Comply with the Policies and standards, Local Laws and Regulations, Controls and Procedures of the Bank
17. Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you by Chief Manager Branches or higher authorities.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Education: Bachelor degree/Advance diploma in Banking, Economics, commerce,
Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from any recognized University or equivalent.

Experience:
· At least 3 years of relevant Banking experience

Duties and Responsibilities Of Assistant Manager - Mechanical Workshop.

Main Job Purpose:
To provide multidisciplinary engineering and operations to skills to ensure general maintenance of all workshop equipment, including factories tea processing equipment, boilers, fabrication of mechanical structures and providing advice to capital projects within specific units of responsibility within prescribed guidelines

Key Accountabilities:
Engineering
Development and Implementation of Planned Maintenance Procedures (Daily, Weekly and Monthly Checklists)
Diagnoses and interprets problems (fault finding) to optimize production output and with own teams carrying out the plant/equipment repairs. Ensures that service levels are maintained at the required standards by carrying out all breakdown, preventative and predictive maintenance effectively.
Is responsible for the reduction of breakdowns in his area of responsibility by analysing breakdowns, complying with the PM requirements and implementing Continuous improvements.
Participates in strategic engineering plans to deliver maintenance and breakdown reduction benefits (RCM).
Coaches and develops the engineering skills of other maintenance and operational staff.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
Responsible for fault-finding and problem solving of engineering/ operational problems in his area by ensuring that the appropriate corrective action regarding any deviation from standards is taken.
Identifies the major engineering losses in his area and investigates using Kaizen problem solving methodology. (Fish bone, 5 Why etc.)
Capability to develop and lead cross functional teams to deliver Business needs

Administration
Completes all required documentation to standard and captures SAP, maintenance and stores information on relevant data system.
Analysis of Emergency Works Orders and implementation of corrective actions
Analysis of Daily, weekly and Monthly Checklists and incorporation into Planned Maintenance
Capability to work with Cross Functional Teams within the business

Safety, Health & Environmental care
Ensures that Company safety rules and regulations are adhered to within the sphere of his responsibility.
Implementation and assists with maintaining Unilever safety and 5S standards in the area on responsibility.

Quality
Ensures that Company Quality rules and Standards are adhered to within the sphere of his responsibility.

Autonomous Maintenance
Draws up, Coaches and develops engineering skills to other maintenance and operational staff using OPL and SOPs.

Skills/Experience:
Must have a completed by holders of Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
A minimum 2 years work experience in Similar FMCG Environment Experience on tea processing and boiler maintenance would be advantageous.

  • Bachelor Degree Nautical Science, Maritime safety, Maritime Education and Training, Marine Engineering, or Master or Chief Engineer or its equivalent; and
  • At least ten (10) years of working experience, three (3) years of which must be at senior managerial position in a reputable institution (preferably Maritime/shipping services institution).

CORE FUNCTION
The Plant Manager shall be responsible for heading Plant Operations Routines including planning, overseeing maintenance and engineering activities within the Plant.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Qualification and Experience
  • The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Water and Civil Engineering with a minimum of four (4) years Experience in water production sector or equivalent qualifications. 
  • Experience in water supply industry will be an added advantage.

The holder of the position should be able to display mastery of a complex and specialized area of knowledge and skills, employing knowledge and understanding to conduct research or advanced technical or professional activity, able to work autonomously and in complex and unpredictable situations

SME Manager

Position: SME Manager – One Post

The Role
The SME Manager is responsible to the Chief Manager Credit for matters relating to credit analysis, coordinate, monitoring and review the SME Business performance, and for ensuring the efficient conduct of the Credit Department

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take leading role in mobilizing deposits and growing non-interest income from SME,
  • Appraise SME credit applications above the Branch Managers limit from branches and provide recommendations for decision making,
  • Become a key contact between SME and the Bank,
  • Coordinate the SME business deals by proposing the financing structure as well as pricing,
  • Advise the Bank, on all aspects of the development of SME business,
  • Take a leading role in driving SME activity, through networking and promoting SME activity with branch Managers.
  • Actively build the capacity of the Credit Officers through on-going mentoring and support in order to ensure quality credit application and SME Business Growth.
  • Monitor and review the SME Business performance to ensure that the targets are met.
  • Review with Credit officers and Branch Managers client feedback, market intelligence, workshops/focus group reports and review product design and performance to establish if change, redesign or re-launch is appropriate.
  • Co-ordinate budget objectives of the responsibility area on the SME business to ensure targets are achieved as per approved budget.
  • Preparing budget and projections for the SME business. The budget to include the list of existing, prospective and potential customers to benefit from the loan product
  • Ensure that customer satisfaction for the SME products are achieved by providing accurate advise for selling in line with customers expectations.
  • Monitor and ensure SME business portfolio performance is go.od and within the acceptable risk level.
  • Perform other duties as may be directed or assigned by his/her superior.

  • Implementation of proactive market plans and business development programs that will optimize the Banks retail, wholesale & corporate customer needs
  • Cross selling and marketing CASA growth
  • Managing the operations and support activities at the branch; including guiding, supporting, motivating and supervising the staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in all areas of branch operations
  • Monitoring the administrative activities in the branch to ensure adequate control and cost-effective in all areas
Education Qualifications
  • University graduate preferably in Banking/Business/Management, Professional qualifications e.g. Institutions of Bankers diploma would be desirable
  • Experience & Competencies Required
  • 5 years minimum experience in managerial position in a commercial bank
  • Some experience at bank branch management level would be desirable
  • Ability to balance long term and short term requirements independently
  • Strong evaluation, communication and reporting skills
  • Able to provide advice and cause/effect evaluation to support business decision making
  • Builds relationships and networks easily

The bank is registered under the Companies Act. 2006 (as amended from time to time) and licensed by the Bank of Tanzania under the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2006.
The Bank wishes to recruit the qualified personnel to fill the following vacant positions resulting from the implementation of the expansion programs taking place.

The Role
The Branch Manager is responsible to the Chief Manager - Banking Operations for the efficient management of. the branch in ensuring that the branch books are properly maintained, efficient and satisfactory services are rendered to customers, and ensuring that proper security arrangements are always in place to safeguard the bank's assets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The branch being the most important unit of the bank in delivering services to customers, the Branch Manager is responsible for maintaining the highest standard of quality customer care to enhance revenue generation. This shall strictly be done in accordance with the bank's policies and procedures and Bank of Tanzania Prudential Guidelines.
  • He shall ensure that the branch books are properly maintained.
  • Ensuring that all types of accounts, be current accounts, servings accounts or deposit accounts, are opened strictly in accordance to the law of banking and the country's laws and regulations in force from time to time.
  • Ensuring that cheques and vouchers are properly drawn according to the customer's mandates held by the bank.
  • On daily basis, shall scrutinize cheques unpaid register, accounts opened register and take the necessary corrective steps whenever mistake are detected. Ensuring the loan applications received are registered and immediately forwarded to Credit Manager for analysis and thereafter submitted to the relevant authority for approval.
  • Ensuring that loan disbursements are carried out as per stipulations in the limit sheet.
  • Ensuring that returns on branch operations are prepared and forwarded to Head office within the set deadlines.
  • Ensuring that rules laid down regarding both cash and keys handling are adhered to.
  • Ensuring that checking of bulk cash and snap checks are carried out and also that all boxes containing cash are safely kept in the strong room.
  • Ensuring that Treasury cash is checked and balanced against the General ledger at least once every fortnight.
  • Ensuring that customers' correspondence/letters are answered expeditiously, at least within three days of their receipt.
  • To ensure that risks within the Branch are minimized and systems are in place to monitor and eliminate risks across all areas of Branch. operations.
  • Creating an effective branch sales strategy, manage and direct all branch's business with the objective of achieving annual targets.
  • Ensure that the branch implements and monitor compliance regarding money laundering prevention within procedures and controls that meet the bank's policy and BOT regulations.
  • Ensuring that all branch operating units/departments are appropriately staffed according to the established workload.
  • Preparing the Branch Annual Plan and Budget for submission to Head Office. Ensuring effective utilization of all bank assets under his control.
  • Ensuring the promotion of the bank's image through proper corporate governance.
  • Promoting harmonious working relationship between staff of all levels in the Branch.
  • Ensuring rotation and training of staff.
  • Performing any other duties that he/she may be called upon to do by his/her

Job Qualifications and Skills

  • Holder of Bachelor Degree in Economics, Business Administration or related

  • 10 years experience covering core banking departments in the Branches.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Application, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines and limited supervision.
