AKEST vision is to provide accessible, world-class education, which prepares student to become self- confident, open –minded articulate and ethical young people with academic qualifications to enable them to make productive contributions to their own community and their wider society. It is part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a group of private development agencies working to improve living condition and opportunities for people of all faiths and origins in specific regions of the developing world. IGCSE Coordinator:

Position Summary
To co-ordinate, and ensure the success of, all aspects of the school`s IGSE programme.
The IGCSE in order to achieve success, the post holder need to interact and co-operate professionally with academic, administrative and support staff, maintaining productive, respectful relationships with all colleagues. He /She should develop caring relations with students with students so as to guide and enable them to fulfil their educational potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Establish implement IGCSE aims, objectives and regulations in accordance with the guidelines, and in line with the school`s mission and philosophy.
Encourage and facilitate varied methods of learning appropriate to the abilities and aspirations success completion of the IGCSE course.
Organize the assessment of ICGSE students through their course and ensure the reliability such assessments
Ensure that IGCSE candidates are properly informed of and prepared for all required assessments and examinations.
Organize and supervise the final ICGSE examinations.
Process all applications for admission to the IGCSE programme and keep the Head of school and the admissions administrators informed of all equiries.
Interview all applicants for admissions and, where possible, their parent and ensure that all parties understand the nature of the IGCSE programme and the school`s expectation of students and the requirements for admission.

The requirements:
Applicants should have the following qualifications and experience

Bachelor degree in Education from a reputable, accredited university.
At least five years’ experience with demonstrable achievement of  leading a Grade 6-12 reputable international school; the experience and drive to lead an intense school improvement and change process and resilience  when  experience  difficulties inherent in an emerging system;
Proven track record in the effective and efficient management of fiscal and human resources;
Excellent with the ICGSE Curriculum
Excellent team –building skill, with  proven  experience in leading, motivating and empowering teams;
Experience in Africa is desirable.
