TRA would like to recruit dynamic experienced and qualified personnel to fill vacant positions in the Research & Policy, Human Resources & Administration and Board Secretariat & Legal Services Departments. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians for the following position:
Position: Business Intelligence Analyst
Purpose of the Job
To build a focus on how best the TRA would manage and capture both tactic and explicit knowledge across functions within its operational domain. It entails systematic approaches to help information and knowledge emerge and flow to the right people at the right time to create value through insights, better decisions and higher business performance.
Major activities of the Job
i. Development of Sourcing of Data for BI Analysis either from within or outside TRA environment.
ii. Responsible to perform business information research to secure adequate, accurate and relevant information from within and outside TRA in the areas pertaining to tax policy and tax administration.
iii. Development of Data extracts, transformation and loading into BI Infrastructure.
iv. Responsible for monitoring DWH feeds by performing the Quality Assurance function for DWH products/components e.g. ODS, Data mats, etc.
v. Performing business analysis by utilizing the following approaches:
Benchmarking using multiple factors such as macro/sectoral parameters,
Surveys: Conducting sampling surveys, comparisons with historical surveys, statistical analysis and reporting,
Data analysis including data mining, data segregation, meta data analysis, multivariate analysis, linear programming, regression/time series forecasting, pivot tables, probabilistic risk management,
Analysis of reports: Analysis/creation of insightful charts for incorporating into business reports.
vi. Responsible for third party’s data management.
vii. To perform risk analysis or risk management assessments by employing BI technology in order to minimize operational deficiencies within the organization.
viii. To develop risk indicators applicable to tax audits, particularly those indicators
ix. which increase the likelihood of non-compliance
x. To produce statistical details of risks identified, which would be passed to the revenue departments for audit teams to work on.
xi. To alert management on the areas of tax administration and tax policy that needs close attention for the purpose of improving overall operational efficiency.
xii. To perform BI awareness training to give IT managers enough information to
Pinpoint their business drivers to facilitate the implementation of aligning IT with the business
.
Minimum Job Requirements
Qualification
i. Advanced Diploma or Degree or in Information and Communications Technology,
ii. Computer Science or Systems Engineering or Statistics or Management Science or its equivalent from a recognized Institution/University.
iii. Knowledge of Business Intelligence Development and Analysis such as administration of Data Warehouse, Monitoring and Reporting applications including ETL, Data Modelling, knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and 2005, BI analysis through data mining ,OLAP applications and BI reporting will be an added advantage.
