The Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is a statutory institution owned by the two Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Zambia. The Authority wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified Candidates to fill the under mentioned post
Job Objective
- To design, develop, implement and maintain effective and efficient accounting systems and procedures in order to ensure transactions are operated in controlled manner.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs, develops and implements financial accounting procedures and systems aimed at streamlining and maintaining efficient/effective payroll system, Ledger Accounting and other cash disbursements including bills payments.
- Approves all payment vouchers for various expenses, purchases and payments based on availability of funds and priority needs. Prepares financial reports such as Trial balance, Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet and cash flow for submission to corporate Accounts Head Office.
- Coordinate External Audit activities by providing requisite documents/data information and availing self for questions.
- Carries out physical supervision of staff in the section in order to provide motivation guidance and advice. Recommends potential subordinates for development courses institutions.
- Supervises the compilation and preparation of departmental budget and consolidation of the Region's Budget Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Superior.
Qualifications and Experience
- CPA, ACCAor any related qualification.
- Two years of experience
- Attractive Salary under TAZARA Salary Grade TSG 12 will be offered to the right Candidate.
