As a key member of MEDA Tanzania’s Senior Management Team, the Operations Manager works together with the Country Manager, Finance Manager and Human Resources Manager to ensure the success of MEDA’s Tanzania Program.
The specific priority is the next phase of the Tanzania National Voucher Scheme (TNVS) entitled Achievement and Maintenance of Comprehensive Coverage (AMCC).
The Operations Manager will be accountable for activities falling under the Operations umbrella including Monitoring and Evaluation, Fleet Management, Fraud Prevention, Business Development, Procurement, IT and Electronic Applications, and the Voucher Tracking System.
Mentoring and coaching middle-management in order to improve deliverables forms a major part of the Operations Manager role.

Qualifications
- University degree, ideally a Masters, and ideally combining the disciplines of Public Health (or related field), Business Administration, International Economic Development (or related field).
- Proven track record of at least five (5) years’ experience in project development, management, and implementation, in the fields of value chains, public health, international business, or related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years management experience in overseas location is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of bi- and multi-lateral government agencies, donors (particularly USAID, DFID, others), non-governmental organizations and other development agencies working in Tanzania’s health sector.
- Excellent skills in relationship building, intercultural engagement, networking and interpersonal communication, negotiation and leadership.
- Skills to work with tools such as multi-media presentations, word processing, and complex spread sheets and email. Excellent writing skills are required.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-past, constantly changing program.
- Proficiency in Swahili and previous work experience in East Africa is highly desirable.
- Project Management certification is also desirable.
