Position: Technician - Boiler Operator (2 Posts) 

Reports To: Mechanical Engineer
Reporting Office Work Station: Kinyerezi Gas Plant II


Position Objective:
Responsible for supervision of plant heating systems operations i.e. heat recovery steam generators/boilers and water bath heaters for gas pressure reduction station with special responsibility for minor maintenance of equipment.


Key Responsibilities:
a) Operate and maintain plant heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) and its controls.
b) Conduct general operations of Condensate extraction pumps, water feed pumps, motor operated valves, safety valves, relief valves, HP, LP steam drums, Blowdown tanks, blowdown coolers, assorted steam pipe works and its lagging, Steam pressures and temperature gauges.
c) A Continuous Liaise with plant chemical and process engineer to make sure demineralized water supply from water treatment plant to heat recovery steam generators are within the recommended specifications.
d) Maintain a constant awareness of TANESCO’s healthy and safety policy.

Key Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required For The Job:
 Ordinary Diploma/Certificate in Boiler operations from recognized institution.
 At least three (3) years’ work experience in operations of steam Boilers.

REMUNERATION:
