Senior Driver II (1 Post)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) situated at Chang’ombe, Temeke District in Dar es Salaam.

Job Title: Senior Driver II (1 Post)

(a) Qualifications and Experience:
Holder of Form IV Secondary Education with passes in Kiswahili and English with a Trade Test Grade I. Must have a valid Driving Licence in the relevant class, and has attained Advanced Drivers Certificate Grade II from recognized institution and relevant working experience of not less than five years.

(b) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Drives DUCE vehicles skilfully.
(ii) Maintains and keeps up-to-date log-books.
(iii) Adheres to Maintenance Schedules.
(iv) Keeps motor vehicle in good running conditions and reports immediately faults and defects to Transport officer.
(v) Ensures that valid documents are obtained prior to commencing any journey.
(vi) Ensures safety and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
(vii) Performs messenger Duties and Responsibilities such as dispatching documents/letters, collecting mail, photocopying of documents
(viii) Diagnoses more complicated problems in the vehicle needing
repair
(ix) Verifies repairs undertaken on vehicles
(x) Performs any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by one’s reporting officer.

(c) Salary Scale: PGSS 7 - 8
