We are seeking applications from suitably qualified, motivated individuals to fill the position of Mechanical Technicianin our Engineering Department.
Overall Purpose of job
The successful applicant will be responsible to carry out maintenance, fault finding and major & minor repairs on equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To take part in carrying out equipment preventive maintenance and trouble shooting at the same time directing artisans, Attend to the immediate repair and reconditioning of machine elements, pneumatic, hydraulic and brake systems, reads and interprets hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams for accurate trouble -shooting, to participate in the pre-planning of preventive maintenance programme, carries out all work in a prompt, thorough and professional manner paying particular attention to safety and quality of workmanship.
Qualification and Experience
Applicants should possess Degree in Mechanical Engineering to FTC level or its equivalent in relevant field with at least 5 years' experience in mechanical maintenance of heavy diesel engine equipment with hydraulic control. He /She must be computer literate with a good command on MS office applications, good communication skills in both written English and Kiswahili together with the ability to work long hours.
