Qualifications
- Environmental engineering degree or equivalent.
- Must be registered with Engineers Registration Board as Professional Engineer.
- At least five years relevant experience.
- Computer skills preferably in engineering field such as engineering drawing software is added advantage.
- Second degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Should not be above 46 years.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager - Sanitation Operations (AM-SO) is the head of Sanitation Operations Section that is responsible for operation and maintenance of sewerage network and on-site sanitation services in the Authority. In particular, he/she:-
- Directs daily operations of the section, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines.
- Assigns and reviews the work of sanitation engineers/technicians and other relevant sanitation staff.
- Assists in planning, directing and supervising preparation of detailed sewerage works and drainage systems and other relevant sanitation works that includes survey, design, constructions of the same.
- Supervises implementation of sewerage and relevant sanitation works.
- Ensures regular inspection of sewerage and relevant sanitation works is carried out and advises on and monitors all service, maintenance and repairs.
- Enforces proper treatment of wastewater and dispose of thereon.
- Ensures compliance and conformity to prescribed laws, rules, regulations and standards pertaining to sanitation operations.
- Gives professional guidance to sanitation engineers and technicians for performing the Authority's activities and getting registered with Engineers Registtation Board.
- Plans, develops, implements and control operational budget and expenditures in sanitation operations,
- Develops and interprets organizational goals, policies, and procedures relating to sanitation operations.
- Gives professional advice to the Technical Manager on sanitation operations matters,
- Performs any other duties assigned by his/her superiors.
