Job Title:                            Fleet Manager

Reports to:                        Deputy Country Director‐ Operations

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required                                                    
 Certificate of Secondary Education
 Class C Driving license  
 Certificate in motor vehicle mechanics and vehicle repair from the recognized institution is
essential
 Good command of English and Swahili both oral and written.  
 Ability to work under pressure and longer hours when periodically required.
 Excellent teamwork and interpersonal relations.
 Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive issues and maintain a high level of confidentiality at
all times.
 Experience in  supervision, with ability to train and build capacity where necessary
 Experience in Fleet Management will be an added advantage
 Experience with USAID or other International Organizations fleet policies is an added advantage
 Ability to negotiate and manage contracts for hired vehicles when needed.
 Knowledge in Computer skills in required.
 Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management from NIT is an added advantage
 Monitor, evaluate and determine priority of vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair projects;
review the work of mechanics and other maintenance personnel to assure compliance with
established standards, guidelines and procedures; direct off‐site maintenance, repair and
recovery functions for roadside vehicle malfunctions
 Meet maintenance schedule and time line
 Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
 Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management is an added advantage
 Computer skills including Excel and Word proficiency is required.
