Chief Executive Officer - CCBRT

Closing date: 31 Aug 2011—CBM

Location: Project CCBRT, Dar es Salaam

Contract Duration: 4 years

Contract Start: January 2012

Objective: The CEO of CCBRT will ensure a smooth continuation of a very large and complex programme (annual budget over 5 Million Euro) covering a wide range of activities such as fundraising, management and donor liaising. He/she will further develop its strategy of becoming less aid dependent by initiating other sources of revenues. Further, CCBRT is at the doorsteps of a new Maternal Health Care programme which includes a community component as well as the establishment of a large maternity hospital in Dar es Salaam. Continued fundraising for and supervising its construction will be an important task. As CCBRT´s current 5-year strategic plan expires at the end of 2012, the new CEO will be required to develop a new plan for the period 2013-2017.

Main Tasks

•Representing CCBRT
•Reporting to the Board of Directors and General Assembly
•Consulting with the Board of Directors
•Developing Vision and Strategic plans for CCBRT in consultation with CCBRT’s Board of Directors
•Fundraising
•Liaising with and lobbying to the Government of Tanzania
•Liaising with and lobbying to Development Partners, individual donors and corporate clients
•Monitoring finances and recommending strategies for growth and reduced dependency on external sources •Delegating activities to CCBRT programme directors and other senior staff
•Supporting and supervising Community Programmes in Dar es Salaam and Moshi
•Supporting and supervising the Disability and Baobab Maternity Hospitals
•Supporting and supervising support services such as human resources, communications, finances, procurement, programme development and fundraising.
•Build up local capacity with a view to hand over responsibilities to a national successor

Professional Profile and Requirements

•Experience in management of programmes with annual budgets of not less than 3 Million EURO •Qualifications in management and finances (MBA)
•Proven 10 years management experience in developing countries
•Proven 5 years experience in Disability related programmes
•Proven experience in donor and VIP relations
•Proven experience in major fundraising as well as strategic planning
•Additional training in (para-)medical field is an advantage

•Excellent inter-personal and facilitation skills
•Team player and good communicator with a proven ability to motivate people
•Overseas experience in a developing country

•Able to motivate and enthuse people
•Sense of humour with the ability to accept criticism and handle conflict
•Fluent English
•Conversant in Swahili would be an asset
