ICT Teacher at Good Neighbors

Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development NGO founded in Korea in 1991. It was granted General Consultative Status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). The aim is to make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony. In Tanzania it was officially established on 2005 and our efforts work towards creating environment where children’s rights are protected and sustainable development of communities through empowerment, leadership and ownership.


Good Neighbors Tanzania is looking for individuals to join our highly motivated team in the following roles;


Title:  ICT Teacher (Temporary Training Facilitator)

Department: Operation
Reporting Line: Principal, Support Officer
Location: Maloregwa Village, Kibondo District, Kigoma Region
Contract Duration: November-December, 2018 (Contract could be extended subject to funding.)



Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach basic computer literacy class to students aged 18-40.
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, following curriculum guidelines and communicate those objectives to students.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent damage.
  • Plan and conduct learning facilitation on ICT for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by administrative regulations.
  • Required to follow all regulations and procedures set by Good Neighbors Tanzania.

Qualification, experiences and competencies
  • Degree / Diploma in ICT or computer science
  • At least 1 year of teaching basic computer / ICT class to youths
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.)
  • Experience in the refugee context or community engagement is an asset

Senior Credit Program Officer

Good Neighbors Tanzania  seeks to hire a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Credit Program Officer (1 Post) 

Department: Operation
Reporting Line: Project Manager
Work Duration: June – December 2018




Job Responsibilities
1. Program Management

  • Participate in carrying out any needs assessment for the programme.
  • Support in designing, planning and implementation of GNTZ VSLA programme in Nduta, Mtendeli and Nyarugusu Camp.
  • Plan, design and carry out capacity building training in regards to VSLA and Savings to the community.
  • Collection of baseline, end line data of beneficiaries for reporting
  • Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key NGO partners in the camps.
  • Any other tasks as maybe assigned.


2. People Management

  • Liaise with other staff members from other department
  • Provide capacity building training to Refugee Incentive Workers
  • Ensure all incentive workers follow guideline of GNTZ


3. Accountability, monitoring and reporting

  • Regular monitoring of all saving groups under supervision
  • Provide regular progress reporting to supervisors
  • Regularly update SGMIS
  • Provide inputs for monthly, quarterly and annual donor reports.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science related degree (Political Studies, Agricultural Science, and Economics etc)
  • Experience in formation of VSLA/ROSCAs groups.
  • Experience in supporting project related to access to finance
  • Experience in managing a team

Preferable

  • Ability to speak Kiha/Kirundi
  • Experience in working in Refugee Camp
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Carpentry and Joinery Teacher

Good Neighbors Tanzania  seeks to hire a qualified candidate for the position of Carpentry and Joinery Teacher at Kibondo (Mtendeli camp)

Reports to: Principal (VTC)

Contract Duration: May – December, 2018 (Contract could be extended subject to funding)



General Responsibilities
  • Teach carpentry and joinery along with other arts and crafts activities.
  • Plan lessons in line with VETA curriculum documents.
  • Carry out assessment and evaluation to students as per Competence Based Assessment (CBA)
  • Responsible to ensure safety of class properties that are under his/her authority
  • Managing student attendance records, grades and other records
  • Ensure student’s discipline as per the center regulations
  • Required to follow all regulations and procedures set by Good Neighbors Tanzania.
Qualification and experience
  • Holder of a National Vocational Certificate of Competence Level III or equivalent
  • Minimum of Instructional Methods Certificate (IMC).
  • Three years of teaching experience.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing Swahili and English.
