Job opening for a General Manager
A private owned registered Company engaged in importation and distribution of ICT (Infrastructure, Hardware and Consumables), Electronic Products (white products) Furniture Manufacturing and stationery distribution and office equipment distribution country wide. Its business does not only cater for the Government and its institutions through Tender awards but also to other Resellers and the general public.
Job Location – Dare salaam Tanzania.
Job purpose:
To develop, plan, organize, coordinate and implement profitably all key functions and business on behalf of the Managing Director.
Key functions;
• To develop the existing businesses.
• Responsible to the Managing Director in respect of all business administrative matters on daily basis.
• To oversee effective and efficient implementation of rules and regulations.
• To provide direction and leadership towards achievement of the companies vision, mission, business strategies, annual goals and objectives.
• To advice and inform the managing director support activities, new ventures and other matters.
• To oversee, designing, promotion and delivery of quality products and services by the companies.
• To prudently manage the companies’ resources within approved budget, guidelines, policies, laws and regulations.
• To insure the companies consistently presents strong and positive image to customers, stakeholders, suppliers and the general public.
• To maintain cost-effective operational environment for motivating employees for optimal performance.
• To oversee proper utilization of manpower resources and work tools in order to enhance productivity among staff.
• To offer sound knowledge to the management on all matters required to be attended urgently which can or likely to cause negative impact if not so attended at the right time.
• To review all periodical performance reports from within and its affiliated companies.
• To stimulate and create harmony among staff to improve sales and profit performance which is a major objective of the companies.
• To look for new market opportunities offered by Darworth Limited and its affiliated companies.
• To represent the Managing Director at various meetings.
• To inspect, Audit and make sure of compliance as well as profitability for each business unit under Darworth Limited.
• To ensure in collaboration with other Managers that all internal established systems are in place as per laid down policies and regulations.
• To undertake any other duties as assigned by the managing director.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or its equivalent and possession of managerial skills.
Experience
5 to 7 years work experience at managerial level in a profitable and reputable organization.
