Jamii Media is an online Media company, which hosts the most popular website in the region - JamiiForums (JamiiForums.com) and FikraPevu (FikraPevu.com) which is an online news portal.
ABOUT THE POST
This is a full time position, including attendance at Social Media, blogging and industry-specific conferences. In this position you will be able to create innovative and exciting methods for public awareness and engagement.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in growing communities on Social Media.

Education, Experience & Skills:
- Age between 23 and 35 years.
- A proven track record in social media strategy and management.
- Experience and creativity in planning, managing and executing successful social media campaigns.
- A bachelor's degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in journalism, communications or related field
- Deep passion for JamiiForums’ mission and MUST be a member of JamiiForums for over 1yr
- Experience with web publishing and basic content management
- Able to work with minimal direction and supervision; independent and self-sufficient.
- Able to think strategically and are results driven.
- Ability and desire to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
Essential Duties:
- Manage Social Media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:
- Share amazing stories/threads from JamiiForums!
- Through creative, clear and compelling web and Social Media communications you will drive engagement and awareness of JamiiForums’ work across Social Media platforms.
- Curate relevant content to reach the audience most likely to visit JamiiForums
- Monitor, listen and respond to users in a "Social" way while cultivating leads and help them on how to use JamiiForums
- Conduct online advocacy and open stream for cross-promotions
- Develop and expand community and/or forum outreach efforts
- Oversee design (ie: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, and Instagram).
- Become an advocate for the Company in Social Media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate
