Credit Officer - 1 position

Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Credit Officer (1 position) to join the Retail Business Banking team.

The work station is Head Office.
Reporting Line: Chief Manager Personal Loans
Locations: Head Office
Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations

Salary: Commensurate to the Job Advertised

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
■ Working with reputable employers/Pension Funds to deepen and secure new Personal loans customer relationships through the analyses of needs and provision of products and services.
Creatively, contribute on tailor products to meet individual customer needs
Driving a hand for the growth of quality loans (Personal loans Consumer, loan to pensioners and other related products) loans portfolio
Process loan application forms/credit proposals received from applicants, and at branches, crosschecking the requirements and submit them with recommendations to the concerned higher authorities for approval
Liaise and provide leadership in areas of expertise, particularly in the provision of products and services to customers.
Manages credit quality standards through effective management of risk according to the Credit Manual Policy.
Be conversant with the AML/CDD requirements. Undertake actions to ensure compliance and report suspicions. Exercise due care and diligence in ensuring all
anti-money laundering and CDD requirements are complied with.
Guide prospective customers who come over the counter for inquiries
Comply with the policies and standards, Local Laws and Regulations, Controls and Procedures of the bank
To assist in liaising with centralized employers and Pension Funds for effecting prompt instalment deductions and pension proceeds from employees' salaries/pensions before granting loans to respective applicants.
Ensure that weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and any other reports are accurate, complete and prepared on schedule
Participate in conducting customer meetings that have defined core objectives, desired outcomes and a well-constructed branch plan.
Maintain borrower's files and ensure that all pre-disbursement conditions are fulfilled.
Carry out regular follow-ups on loan recoveries/cheques/TISS collections from employers
Ensure that pension proceeds and loan instalments from customers are posted into relevant accounts accordingly.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by BFO/Branch Manager from time to time.

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Assisting in acquiring of profitable new customers for the personal loans segment through the creation, development and maintenance of high quality advisory relationships, that includes effective consultative personal selling and creating structuring of financial solutions.
Marketing and managing of personal loans customer relationships through pro-active
and consultative approach and detailed understanding of new/existing customers' business(es) to enhance profit

External: Regulators/Customers/Clients

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Education: Bachelor degree/Advance diploma in Banking, Economics, and
commerce, Marketing Business Administration, Finance or
Accounting from any recognized University or equivalent.

Experience:
Experience from a financial institution or related discipline will be an added advantage
Working knowledge of Equinox functionality
She/he should be computer literate with excellent command of Excel and Word Processing
Added skills and certifications in Risk Marketing activities
