We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join us to work on the implementation of the Education Quality Improvement Programme in Tanzania (EQUIP-T). This is a UK Government’s Department for Internationals Development (DFID) funded programme which will run over a 4 year period.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the programme finances, ensuring that all financial management is carried out in accordance with client standards.
- The management of all accounting and finance staff
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of Tanzania statutory returns
- Maintaining project accounts, producing monthly reconciliation of programme expenditure and drafting invoices for the client.
- Monitoring budgets and expenditure and advising accordingly
- Carrying out audits of programme finances at both Federal and State levels
- Working directly with the Operations Manager as well as reporting to the UK finance team providing strategic financial advice.
You will
- Have excellent financial management and accountancy skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Be a good communicator with strong relationship building skills.
- Be reliable and a team player.
- Have demonstrable experience in meeting deadlines
- Be proactive in supporting colleagues
- Have the ability to take the initiative, raise issues with management and respond to problems
- Have excellent Excel skills, able to learn in house finance packages
- Be educated to degree level or technical equivalent
- Have a relevant professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, IACEW, ICAS)
- Have previous experience in managing donor funded projects
- Be able to demonstrate previous experience of dealing with large volumes of transactions
