Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self motivated and
highly organized Chief Manager- Business Banking (1 position) to join the Bank
in Retail Banking Department team. The person will be responsible for growing
business banking segment in Tanzania Postal Bank, with major focus in the
graduation of micro borrowers that meets graduation requirement as well as
acquisition of new customers.
Reporting Line: Director of Retail Banking
Location: Head Office, Dar es Salaam
Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations

Main Purpose of the Job
- To ensure efficient operations of the division of business banking and proper coordination of activities with other divisions/departments.
- To ensure that branches are complying with the established policies and
- procedures for proper underwriting of business loan applications.
- To ensure that necessary credit memorandum and the required
- documents are presented in appropriate banking manner for consideration by the relevant approving authorities.
- To ensure proper, adequate and safe maintenance of business banking records.
- To ensure that branch managers collect and submits to the Corporation
- Secretary all security documents after the applicant has accepted the letter of offer.
- To initiate review of business banking appraisal policies and documentation procedures from time to time.
- To prepare monthly and quarterly reports that compares actual performance against set targets in respect of growth rate, product mix as well as geographical distribution.
- To appraise all staff under his/her jurisdiction.
- To participate in the preparation of annual plan and budget for business banking division and provide inputs for preparation of business banking annual projections and reviews.
- To advise Risk Management Department on the review of business banking policies and procedures to be carried out at least once annually.
- To propose or design potential new business banking products.
- Toprovide feedback to branch managers on approval status in respect of loan proposals falling above their approval limits which were submitted to the Head Office for consideration.
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Credit or by higher authorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
- · Growth of the business banking products within the set targets.
- · Geographical mix and sectoral distribution in line with the set thresholds.
- · Achievement of the set targets on interest and other income from business banking product.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:
Education:Bachelor degree/Advance Diploma in Banking, commerce,
Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from any other recognized University or equivalent
Experience:
- · The candidate must have a working experience of not less than five years in Business Banking arena.
- · Experience from a financial institution or related discipline will be an added advantage.
- · He/She should be computer literate with excellent command of Excel and Word Processing.
- · Added skills and certifications in Risk Marketing Activities.
