Tanzania   Revenue Authority (TRA) was established under the Tanzania Revenue   Authority Act No.11 0f 1995.The Authority is a semi-autonomous agency of   the Government responsible for the administration of the Central   Government taxes as well as several non-tax revenues. 
TRA is currently   implementing its Third Corporate Plan whose vision is to be ‘A Modern   Tax Administration’  TRA   would like to recruit dynamic experienced and qualified personnel to   fill vacant positions in the Customs and Excise, Domestic Revenue and   Human Resources and Administration Departments. LIBRARY ASSISTANTS                                    
Purpose of the Job
To assist in attending to library users requests and in maintaining order in the library
Major Activities of the Job
(i)Assist   students and staff in the circulation of library materials and the use   of the online catalogue and online database resources.
(ii)Perform a variety of assigned clerical and computer-related tasks.
(iii)Prepare the circulation desk for service on a daily basis with needed supplies.
(iv)Responsible for shelving, straightening and shelf reading of library materials.
(v)Pull library materials which need to be mended, discarded and/or replaced.
(vi)Process new library materials received for circulation.
(vii)Process periodicals received for circulation.
(viii)Sort returned materials by type, location, or unit of library to which they belong.
(ix)Check to see if returned materials are overdue.
(x)Check to see if returned materials are on hold.
(xi)Examine returned materials for obvious damage.
(xii)Compute, collect and record fines paid by the defaulters.
(xiii)Answer borrower's questions concerning circulation rules.
(xiv)Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
  
Minimum Job Requirements
Qualification  
Diploma in Librarianship or its equivalent with at least an upper second class from a recognized institution

GENERAL
