Qualification
• A master’s degree in telecommunications engineering and ICTs and registration with engineers registration board in the professional category
• A minimum of 8 yrs post qualification relevant work experience with 3 yrs in ICTs regulations
Experience:
A minimum of eight years post qualification relevant work experience with three
years in ICTs regulation
A minimum of eight years post qualification relevant work experience with three
years in ICTs regulation
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Evolves minimum standards requirements for ICT equipment and oversees
their implementation;
• Prepares and recommend standards and codes; rules and regulations for the
communications industry;
• Processes and recommends certification and type approval of ICT equipment;
• Organises stakeholders’ fora provide education on legal provisions,
procedures for licensing, and regulation of ICT systems;
• Processes applications for ICT services licenses;
• Processes licence applications for importation, distribution and maintenance of
communications equipment;
• Carries out research on ICT to foster its application for development;
• Formulates and manages the telecommunications numbering plan and routing
resources;
• Carries out inspection and testing of telecommunication equipment;
• Develops and maintenance of national ICT data base;
• Co-ordinates implementation of e-applications in the country;
• Performs other duties assigned by the supervisor
