Job Vacancy: Senior Accountant
Purpose of the Position
To give financial and business support to Insurance operations and Insurance Management team
The Successful candidate will be based in Dar Es Salaam and will report to the Financial Controller
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Preparation of sales, payments and collection reports on weekly, Monthly and daily basis.
- Support monthly management account.
- Filling of quarterly statutory remittances and reports to The Commissioner for Insurance
- Tanzania.
- Administration of Payroll and remits statutory deductions.
- Cash flow management on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Administration of Fixed Assets Register.
- Compile and analyze financial information to
- prepare entries to accounts, such as suspense
- accounts, and business transactions to resolve
- accounting discrepancies.
- Preparation of debtors, creditors, and bank and inter-company accounts reports on monthly basis.
- Preparation of daily claims and debt Collection arising from premium.
- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
- Bank and account analysis on monthly basis
- Imprest and Petty cash management
- Any other duties as may be allocated by. your supervisors.
- The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:
- CPA (T) holder
- Bachelor or Advance Diploma in Accounting
- Accounting system knowledge e.g ACCPAC
- Five years working experience as an Accountant
- Excellent computer skills.
- Proven technical accounting skills
- Experience in insurance industry will be an added advantage
- Trustworthy and proven integrity
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Team player
- Enthusiastic.
- Very hard working person.
- Fast learner, quick thinker and able to work with minimal supervision.
