Jamii Media is an online Media company, which hosts the most popular website in the region - JamiiForums (JamiiForums.com) and FikraPevu (FikraPevu.com) which is an online news portal.
ABOUT THE POST
Jamii Media is looking for individuals who are qualified for the Content Quality Controller post to review and maintain contents on JamiiForums and FikraPevu websites. Please note that this post will be effective from 15th October 2015.
A Content Quality Controller is responsible for the content and images used on our websites. They plan, research, analyze and help moderators and Journalists do their work on contents of both websites, JamiiForums and FikraPevu.
Ensures that the online content on JamiiForums/FikraPevu meet the specified quality standards (qualitative & quantitative) and mandated Editorial Policy.
Must have a very good scope of current issues, not biased in decision making when it comes to content from different groups and ideologies.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Aged 27 years and above bu.
- Editorial skills and experience are given a priority.
- Bachelor's degree. (Preferably in Education, Mass Communication, Journalism or related field)
- An active member with a Minimum 2 years of membership on JamiiForums.
- Very good command of English and Swahili languages; English proofreading is a plus.
- Very good computer skills (MS Office, Internet).
- Well organized and Persistent.
- Can work under pressure
- MUST be impartial
Essential Duties
- Review the received content from publishing department from qualitative perspective in order to make sure that it is up to criteria.
- Keep moderators informed over content/topics that need to be removed, modified, closed or need quick response in case has not been attended.
- Monitor and review content to be shared on other social media outlets and JF SMS service to make sure they meet our standards.
