Branch Manager - (PBZ Mtwara) - 2 Posts

The People's Bank of Zanzibar limited (PBZ) was established in June 30, 1966 under Cap.153 of the Zanzibar Companies Decree.

The primary function was to carry on the business of commercial banking activities in all of its branches and Departments within Tanzania.

The Bank is currently offering Conventional and Islamic banking services in eight branches in Zanzibar and two branches in Tanzania Mainland, with power to receive deposits, invest, lend money and other related commercial banking.

The Bank is currently undertaking expansion of her services therefore automatically demand the human capital with suitable skills and qualification to fill the following vacant post

POSITION: BRANCH MANAGER  (MTWARA) - 2 posts

1. Mtwara Branch Conventional
2. Mtwara Branch Islamic

Successful candidates will be responsible to achieve branch targets on all parameters and provide first class customer service and management of the branch in all areas of the bank's business in order to enhance profitable operations of the brand.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Monitor and manage the activities of the branch to ensure adequate control and cost effectiveness in all areas
Grow the branch business in accordance with bank's budget and business plan
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, risk and audit requirements.
Grow and administer loan portfolio at the branch in accordance with the bank's procedures
Maintain good public relations with customers and the community.
Contribute to the fulfillment of the bank's objectives and goals.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
University graduate preferably in Banking Business/ Management.
Professional qualification e.g. Institute of Bankers diploma would be desirable.

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Three years (3) minimum experience in a managerial position in Commercial Banks.
Some experience, at bank branch management level would be desirable.
Strong service ethics.
Knowledge and experience in Islamic banking will be an added advantage.
Computer literacy and applications in windows, and other packages.
Interpersonal skills to create and maintain relevant business networks
Knowledge and effective application of PBZ policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards
Good communication, writing and presentation skills

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Three years contract (Renewable)
