POSITION: Training Coordinator (Tc)

Position Summary:
The Training Coordinator works out of the Project Office located in the Forestry Training Institute (Olmotonyi) under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and in liaison with TA and RECOFTC’s Capacity Building services team in Bangkok together with officers/counterparts nominated by FTI. The Training Coordinator is responsible for developing a series of Trainings of Trainers (ToT) processes for selected district and NGO staff, who will in turn carry out PFM program at village level. The objective of these trainings is to build the capacity of stakeholders so that existing forest managers, villagers, and other district forest officers ate functioning effectively.
Duties And Responsibilities
- · Plan, develop, and monitor the Training (ToT) for the national PFM/REDD + training team.
- · Advise on selection of ToT participants.
- · Draft ToRs, contract and supervise Trainers of Trainers seasons:
- · Facilitate ToT sessions;
- · In consultation with the Project secretariat, Project manager, MJUMITA, FTI tutors and advisory group, prepare/adapt/elaborate training curricula and information materials;
- · Modify training materials based on experience from initial training sessions;
- · Write training reports;
- · Provide technical support, following-up, back-stopping and monitoring assistance to the national PFM/REDD +training team to deliver district and village level adaptive and innovative capacity building interventions;
- · Facilitate district level field facilitators, forest managers, NGOs staff to document learning from field practices;
- · Translate from Kiswahili to English and from English to Kiswahili, documents related to the training, capacity building, and workshop program;
- · Perform expenditure report checking against planned budgets of training sessions to make sure expenses are accurate, transparent and efficient;
- · Participate and contribute in the Project Annual Planning and Budgeting process;
- · Help with the preparation of quarterly reports and budgets;
- · Performs other tasks as are assigned from time to time by the PM.
- · The Position is for a Tanzania national.
- · Minimum Bachelors degree in Forestry, NRM, Environment or related field;
- · Minimum 5 years working experience in teaching and development of
- participatory training materials;
- · Good working knowledge of English and Kiswahili;
- · Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- · Possess leadership personality, and able to take on and solve problems quickly
- and efficiently;
- · Possess instructive skills;
- · Hands –on experience and able work independently with minimum supervision;
- · Experience with PFM and REDD + in Tanzania at the operational level.
- · Experience in working with local communities
