Position Description:
M.A Cargo Truckers & Forwarders Limited operates a fleet of over 100 trucks transport transit cargo to Bujumbura, Kigali, Lubumbashi, Kampala, Isaka & Goma. We are looking to recruit a logistics officer who will be based in Morogoro to undertake the following duties:
- Coordinate all trucks from loading to offloading points
- Plan allocation and liase with all drivers during their departure.
- Liase with the central workshop in Morogoro on services, repairs, major overhauls etc.
- Coordinate and correspond via email, fax to all suppliers on goods and loading and offloading schedule.
- Arrange all transit documentation for TRA to ensure timely loading of trucks.
- Arrange all documentation for border clearance for loaded trucks to ensure timely delivery of cargo.
- Coordinate with loading supervisor in Dar es salaam for loading trucks after completion of documentation.
- Arrange supply of diesel, Tyre, tarpaulin stock according to weekly consumption schedule.
- Liase with representatives at offloading site to ensure timely turnaround.
- Plan with the accounts department all driver allowances, visa fees and comesa cards and custom documentation prior to departure in Morogoro.
- Arrange calibration of tankers when needed and ensure all trucks conform to health and safety regulations.
- Arrange insurance for all trucks transiting to neighbouring destinations.
- Compiling GPS report from traffic department daily and presenting to the management.
- preparation of daily, monthly and quarterly turnaround reports for the management.
Application Instructions:
The candidate must have 5-7 years experience in logistics and having dealt with transit cargo.
The candidate must have a minimum of a degree or diploma in Transport/logistics
The candidate must be willing to live in Morogoro.
The candidate must be computer literate.
The candidate must possess good written and oral english and swahili.
The candidate must be hands on.
