The School of St Jude is a private, charity funded school providing free, quality education for approximately 1500 Tanzanian students from the lowest socio-economic backgrounds. It is funded entirely by donations and supported by strong governance. Dedicated local staff are supported and mentored by a team of committed international volunteers.
Applicants for this newly created position will need to be prepared to meet the challenge of working in this unique environment, provide the academic vision and professional leadership for the whole school and advise on the formation of its academic policies and their implementation.
The position will report directly to the CEO, be responsible for the leadership of the academic and boarding staff and assist in the day to day management and administration of the whole school.
The school is looking for candidates who have:
•worked successfully at senior management level within a large educational establishment
•experience and understanding of different curriculum frameworks including an international curriculum
•positive energy, vision and enthusiasm
•an empathy for the school’s culture and ethos.
•experience of working within an East African environment would also be preferred
