INTRODUCTION.
Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) was established under the Tanzania Revenue Authority Act No.11 0f 1995.The Authority is a semi-autonomous agency of the Government responsible for the administration of the Central Government taxes as well as several non-tax revenues. TRA is currently implementing its Third Corporate Plan whose vision is to be ‘A Modern Tax Administration’
TRA would like to recruit dynamic experienced and qualified personnel to fill vacant positions in the Internal Audit, Board Secretariat and Legal Services, Customs and Excise, Domestic Revenue, Tax Investigations and the Human Resources and Administration Departments. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians for the following positions:
POSITION: MANAGER – INFORMATION SYSTEMS AUDIT.
Purpose of the Job.
To assist the Director in conducting quality Information Systems Audit.
Major Activities of the Job.
-Administer and coordinate the information system audits in the department.
-Develop comprehensive practical programs and schedules for audit coverage in his/her area.
-Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the information systems controls in the Authority.
-Determine areas of risk and appraise their significance and likelihood.
-Schedule project and staff assignments to comply with management’s needs within the scope of the departments’ overall schedule.
-Review and submit for approval the purpose, scope and approach for each assigned audit project.
-Direct audits to ensure that the information system auditing standards are maintained in planning and accumulating audit evidences.
-Provide support to internal auditors to ensure approved internal audit objectives are met and adequate coverage is achieved.
-Conduct research on modern information systems audit techniques.
-Provide technical assistance to other internal auditors and internal affairs officers.
-Review audit work papers and edit the draft audit reports and together with the team leader of the assigned project discuss the reports with appropriate management.
-Perform special investigations assigned by management.
Minimum Job Requirements
Qualification.
1. Advanced Diploma or University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, Management or its equivalent from a recognised Institution.
2. Plus a Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Management or equivalent from a recognised Institution.
3. Professional Accounting qualification such as CPA (T) or ACCA or its equivalent and must be registered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
4. Professional certification in CISA or CIA.
5. Training in Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS), Corporate Governance, Risk Assessment and Management will be added advantage.
Experience.
Six (6) years of work experience of which three (3) should be at a senior position.
