JOB Summary description
The Grants Manager is responsible for managing activities and processes related to securing and reporting on grants . By offering a portfolio of innovative education approaches and advancing aligned policies, Global Grants seeks to activate and develop the capacity of communities and educators to build and sustain vibrant learning ecosystems that allow each person to thrive. This role involves working closely with colleagues across the organization including programmatic leads, Accounting/ Finance as well as counterparts at grant making organizations to ensure timely and accurate grant application and reporting as well as researching new grant opportunities from public and private sources.   
The Grants Manager reports to the Senior Director, Strategy & Innovation. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

The key responsibilities of the Grants Manager include: 
· Coordinate development, writing and submission of grant proposals to third-party entities. 
· Facilitate the preparation of high-quality grant reports and statements in an accurate and timely manner, in partnership with initiative leaders. 
· In coordination with the Accounting/ Finance team, track and monitor grants and donations in compliance with funding restrictions and ensure grant processing and revenue tracking accordingly.
· Review and communicate grant expiration dates, altered time frames, milestones, and major changes in budgets to appropriate staff.
· Identify public and private funding opportunities to support existing and planned organizational initiatives. 
· Develop and provide training, tools, and resources for staff on grants administration, donor rules and regulations, and Global Grants policies and procedures with regard to grants. 
· Serve as an institutional resource on grant compliance, participate in the review of new funding opportunities, and provide critical feedback on institutional eligibility and risk. 
· Stay up-to-date on Global Grants strategy and provide  guidance on how best to raise financial support from new programs. 
· Engage with grant making networks and other related organizations, gaining and sharing perspective on public and private funding sources to support organizational initiatives.
· Special projects and additional responsibilities as deemed appropriate.

Desired Skills and Experience Requirements 
· 2-3 years of experience with development, grants management and reporting. 
· Strong oral and written communication, planning, analytical, and decision-making skills; 
· Extraordinarily strong organizational skills and ability to work across teams to manage multiple priorities. 
· Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects successfully, while maintaining collaborative relationships with leadership and peers.  
· Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and practices, as well as strong analytical skills and attention to detail are a must. Knowledge of the education sector broadly 
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel; 
· Bachelor’s Degree required.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES           
                                                                     
May be responsible for supervising individuals within the department.  

These supervisory responsibilities may include assigning and checking work, establishing work methods, maintaining quality and quantity standards, organizing and prioritizing work, interviewing and hiring,
disciplining, handling grievances, carrying out established policies, and establishing performance standards.
